Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Brigitte carried with her the adventurous spirit of her hometown throughout her life. She was a proud 1979 graduate of Dimond High School and later earned her degree from Wayland Baptist University, pursuing both education and career with enthusiasm and integrity.
Brigitte built a successful career as a Senior Project Control Specialist, where her attention to detail, strong work ethic, and collaborative spirit earned her the admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
On February 29, 1992, she married James Landry, her soulmate and best friend. Their marriage, celebrated on a leap day, reflected their mutual joy and unique love. Together, they built a lifetime of laughter, loyalty, and adventure. In 2025, they marked 33 years of marriage—a milestone of enduring devotion. James preceded Brigitte in death just weeks earlier, on June 4, 2025.
Brigitte was known for her vibrant personality—outgoing, talkative, and always ready to strike up a conversation. Whether she was making new friends on her travels or chatting with a neighbor at home, her warmth and openness made people feel instantly welcome.
She was passionate about plants, children, dogs, baking, and cooking—caring for all with a loving heart and generous spirit. Her kitchen was a source of warmth and comfort, where she baked with love, cooked with joy, and brought people together through the meals she prepared. Her home was always full of life, whether it was greenery by the windows, laughter from little ones, or the comforting presence of a beloved pet.
Her travels spanned the globe, from Australia and New Zealand to Tanzania, and from coastlines in Florida and the Carolinas to wineries in Oregon and eateries across the South. She had a special love for beach destinations, always drawn to the sound of waves and the feel of ocean air.
Brigitte is survived by her daughter, Gabrielle Landry Cranford, and son-in-law Zayne Cranford; her son, Zachery Friess; her mother, Therese Landry; her sister, Joanne Landry; her brother, Daniel Landry; her cherished grandchildren, Katie Friess and Dylan Friess; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Her legacy is one of joy, connection, and compassion. Brigitte lived life fully—speaking from the heart, laughing often, loving deeply, and nourishing everyone around her in every sense of the word. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 6th at 1:00 PM at St. Luke Catholic Church, 9800 Fairview Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
A reception will follow at 2:00 PM at The Barn in the Village (www.thebarninthevillage.com).
In honor of Brigitte, her loved ones invite you to plant something, hug a dog, bake something sweet, talk to a stranger, or simply take a moment to cherish life—just as she always did.
