Carolyn Jane Dexter

Carolyn and her twin sister were born on December 14, 1944, in Taunton, Massachusetts, to the late Burpee and Carmen Lagace Dexter.

Carolyn loved Jesus with all her heart and joyfully shared the Good News with everyone she met. She found great joy in praising and worshiping her Savior and faithfully reading God's Word. Nothing meant more to her than spending time with her family, and she treasured the many memories they created together throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her twin sister, Carol "Bunny" Hill; sisters, Beth Verge and Bonnie Firth; and her brother, Bruce Dexter.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Robin Horne of Davidson and Amy Stogner and husband, Dean, of Matthews; son, Keith Horne and wife, Kim, of Mint Hill; grandchildren, Chandra Lester (Jason), Natasha Flynn (Chris), Beth Stogner (Miroslav), Kristina Carter (Rob), Olivia Stogner, Rachel Stogner, Jeremiah Stogner, Blake Horne, and Luke Horne; sisters, Myra Dexter, Charlotte Magazu, and Holly Mulvihill; 12 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Mint Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Will Stoneham officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the church.

A private graveside service and burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the family cemetery in Hays, North Carolina.

Pallbearers will be Dusty Firth, Jeremiah Stogner, Blake Horne, Luke Horne, Clay Nobles and Hamilton Nesporov.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to Mint Hill Baptist Church in Carolyn's memory.
