Charles Edward "Eddie" Brown Jr.

Charles Edward Brown, Jr., lovingly known as Eddie, passed away on September 5, 2025. Born December 25, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was the cherished son of Charles Edward Brown, Sr. and Sylvia Ann Winslow Kauffman.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Cathy Brown; his siblings, Darlene Brown Carpenter (Ted), Tammy Brown Nugent (David), and Randy D. Brown. He was a devoted uncle to Kelley, David, Brandon, DJ, and Sam; and a proud great-uncle to Dustin, Lindsey, Tyler, Klaudia, Dylan, Emilie, Harper, Riley, and Colton. Eddie also leaves behind his feline children, Pauly Brown and Spunky Brown.

Eddie was a proud 1975 graduate of Garinger High School and later earned his degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Throughout his life, he wore many professional hats with dedication and skill—serving as store manager in a local grocery store, working with Patterson Heating & Air, and applying his technical expertise at Wenco/Jeld-Wen window company and Primestar satellite. A true entrepreneur at heart, Eddie founded and successfully operated several satellite installation businesses, with his final venture aptly named Phoenix Endeavors. Beyond his work, Eddie had a deep love for animals and found joy in visiting zoos and exploring new places through travel.

Eddie will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family. A truly genuine soul, he embraced others with love and gave freely from the heart. Eddie’s presence brought joy to those around him, and his memory will be forever treasured.

A Celebration of Life honoring Eddie will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service–Mint Hill Chapel, located at 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, North Carolina. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home to share memories and offer their condolences.
