He grew up near Irondequoit, with his parents and his beloved sister, Barbara. After graduating from Irondequoit High School, he continued his education at Syracuse University in Mechanical Engineering and went on to the University of Colorado to get his MBA in Management Science/Finance. Chuck also went to Valparaiso University in Indiana.
Chuck built a successful career in business, bringing to his work the same dedication, hard work, and determination that characterized every part of his life. He was deeply committed to the people he loved and devoted himself to building a life filled with family, friendship, adventure, and cherished memories.
Chuck met his beloved first wife, Irene Clark Palmeter at a young age and they shared life together for 34 years before her passing in 2002. Together, they shared a love of sailing and found lifelong friendship, freedom, joy, and adventure on the water. Sailing reflected Chuck’s ability to appreciate each moment while looking forward to the next adventure. The time they spent on the water was filled with stories, laughter, and memories that remained special to him throughout his life.
Chuck later married Robin Coates, with whom he shared 16 years of marriage before her passing in 2021.
Known for being generous, loving, and genuinely good-hearted, Chuck made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He loved his family deeply and believed in making the most of every opportunity to gather, celebrate life, and create lasting memories. He was often the life of the party. His generosity and appreciation for life’s simple moments will be remembered with great affection.
Chuck was also an avid dog lover. His dogs were cherished members of his family, and his loyal companion, Captain, remained faithfully by his side until the end. Their bond was a beautiful reflection of the love and devotion Chuck gave so freely to his animals.
Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Charles Lavern and Gladys Anne, his wives, Irene Clark Palmeter, and Robin Coates Palmeter. He is survived by his sister, Barbara (Palmeter) Bristol; his nephew Dean Calleri, his sisters-in-law, Marian (Jake) Cleveland, Patricia (Daniel) Clark Sanchez, Laura (Keith) Gayden, and Andrea (Walter) Passmore; and his brother-in-law, Frank (Roseanne) Clark. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, along with special friends who became part of his extended family.
Chuck adored each of them and shared a special bond with so many. Each will carry forward the memories, stories, laughter, and love he gave so generously throughout his life.
After a life well lived and a heart full of love for his family, Chuck is finally at peace and reunited with the loved ones who went before him. He is now resting in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Cornerstone Mission Church, located at 5113 W. Hwy 74, Monroe, North Carolina, 28110. The service will also be live-streamed as well.
