Christena Stowers Harrill, of Linville, North Carolina, passed away Monday evening, July 14, 2014, at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, North Carolina. She was 83 years old.

Born March 17, 1931 in Richwood, West Virginia, Mrs. Harrill was the daughter of William and Cora Stowers.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, George; sons, John and wife, Lisa, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and William and wife, Jan, of Hillsborough, North Carolina; and grandchildren, Jonathan, David, and Nathan Harrill of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at Altamont United Methodist Church, 85 Camp Creek Road in Altamont, North Carolina, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Pisgah Cemetery in Newland, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Altamont United Methodist Church. Their mailing address is 85 Altamont Church Road, Newland, North Carolina 28657.
