Born on December 27, 1953, in Rochester, New York, Danny was the beloved youngest son of Thomas and Charlotte Kennedy, who raised him to be a devout Catholic, altar boy, and to love Jesus. He was a devoted husband to Gloria during their 20 years of marriage. Danny was a proud father to his two daughters, Marybeth and Irene, and cherished his eight grandchildren and his special relationship with his son-in-law, Patrick.
After graduating from West Irondequoit High School, he went on to work in manufacturing alongside his oldest brother, Tommy, at DuPont. He later took early retirement from Arch Chemicals and enjoyed the Florida sunshine with Gloria.
Known to many friends as “Skipper,” Danny spent countless hours on the ball field and in the bowling alley, enjoying friendly competition and creating memories with those he loved. Those who knew him will remember his quick wit, sharp comebacks, jokes, and smiling Irish eyes. More than anything, he will be remembered as a devoted family man and for his remarkable strength. Danny will be deeply missed.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Charlotte Kennedy; his sister, Kathleen (Chuck) Fritz; and his brothers, Thomas M. Kennedy and James P. Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria DeMars Kennedy; his daughters, Marybeth (Brett) Casey and Irene (Patrick) Kennedy-Wyllie; his sisters, Patricia C. Kennedy and Susan E. Kennedy; his sister-in-law, Virginia (Thomas) Kennedy-Tette; his grandchildren, Joshua, Danny, John, Joseph, Josiah, Jack, Berlin, and Cannon; and his godchildren, Thomas J. Kennedy, Christopher M. Drumm, and Ritch A. Burgmaster. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, special friends, stepchildren, and the mother of his children Laura Gayden.
