He was born on July 1, 1940 in Charlotte, NC to the late Milton and Ruth Morris.
Mr. Morris enjoyed farming. He was a dairy farmer for most of his life. In his later years, he worked in a textile mill and in his spare time still helped out his father on the farm.
David is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances Morris; daughters, Janie Austin and Sarah Jimenez (Neno); grandchildren, Tracy Austin, Renee Jimenez, Pamela Jimenez, Gerald Jimenez and Ronald Jimenez.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227 with a visitation held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Novant Health Hospice Team - especially Cynthia Moore and LaKenya Smith for the care that they provided to Mr. Morris.
