Joan was born on July 2, 1932 in Catawba County, NC to the late Hal Vernon Bowman and Edna Mae Guthrie.
Joan enjoyed sewing, reading and serving her family. She was a long time member of Wilson Grove Baptist Church in Mint Hill, NC.
Her husband, Louis Burnette, preceded in her in death.
She is survived by her children; Ted, Hal, Steve and Barbara, grandchildren; Beth, David, Rick, Wade, Wayne, Amanda, Joey, Meg and Landon, great-grandchildren; Jennifer, Anngel, Danielle, Josh, Brandon, Caidence, Veronica and Henry, as well her great-great-grandchildren; Noah, Adam, Gina and Athena.
Visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel. Joan will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
