A daughter of the late Alice and Buford Plyler, Doris grew up in the Charlotte, North Carolina area with her family of six brothers and sisters. She attended Harding High School and worked at Nebel Knitting Company for 17 years. Later, Doris worked in health care and then in retail sales until retirement.
Doris was a loving mother, housewife and patriotic, and enjoyed her faith in Christ. She had a passion for cooking, the beach, movies, Elvis Presley and was a fan of Jeff Gordon. She looked forward to the holidays and family events and liked to go out to eat with her siblings and nieces. When her health started to decline, Doris liked to watch classic westerns on TV.
She is survived by her husband, Mack; her son, Michael; and several nieces and nephews.
