Born December 22,1941, in Union County, North Carolina, Elizabeth grew up surrounded by the close-knit community and values that would shape her life.
She graduated from Indian Trail High School in 1960, where she made many lifelong friendships. In 1963, she began her career with Southern Bell, where she worked with dedication and pride for more than three decades until her retirement in 1995. Her colleagues remembered her not only for her reliability and hard work but also for the kindness and humor she brought into the workplace.
Elizabeth's greatest joys were found outside of work, in the moments spent with family and friends. She loved gardening and could often be found tending to her flowers and plants, finding peace and happiness in watching things grow. She was also an avid fan of music and dancing, especially bluegrass, which always lifted her spirit and brought a smile to her face.
Above all, Elizabeth cherished her family. From her first marriage to Jimmy Bartlett, she is survived by her daughter, Tracy Watson, her son, Mike Bartlett, and her grandson, Jonathan Watson. She's also survived by siblings Edna Hall, Ellen Kiker, and John Wentz. They, along with her extended family and friends, will forever treasure the lessons she taught them through her example: to work hard, to find joy and simple things, and to love deeply
Elizabeth's memory will live on in the countless lives she touched. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with loved ones who have gone before her and that her legacy of warmth, kindness, and perseverance will continue for generations to come.
The family also wishes to think all of the staff at The Little Flower Assisted Living. They filled the last three years of Elizabeth's life with love, laughter, and compassion. There is no greater group of people.
A private family service will be held to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest making a donation to The Little Flower Assisted Living in her honor. The family wishes to thank friends and loved ones for the many expressions of sympathy, love and support during this time
