Elizabeth Virginia Newhouse, age 85, of Charlotte, NC passed away on September 5, 2014. She was born in Laurenburg, NC to the late Herman and Orenda Woodell. Elizabeth graduated from Thomasboro High School in 1947 and enjoyed a 43 year career with Delmar Studios (later Herff-Jones). She is preceded in death by her husband Delmar Charles Newhouse, Sr. and her daughter, Debra Newhouse Tucker.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Newhouse Valas and husband Jim, and Belinda Newhouse Mangum and husband Glenn; and her son Delmar (Del) Newhouse, Jr. and wife Anita; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Elizabeth's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 with the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Chapel, Mint Hill, NC 28227
