Ellen Faye Brewer Moore

Ellen Faye Moore, of Mint Hill, NC and formerly of Matthews, NC, passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2013. She was born in Pineville, NC on December 25, 1937, and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Coy Mack Moore, her parents, Roy Mack Murry Brewer and Eva Mae Brewer, and her brothers, Luther M. Brewer and Jackie Brewer.

Faye, as she was known by everyone, graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1956 and worked at Barnhardt Manufacturing in Charlotte as an office administrator for 40 years. She was a kind, thoughtful lady, loved by all who knew her. She will be missed beyond words. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family.

She is survived by her only child, Daren Lynn Moore, his wife, Tonya, and grandchildren, Savannah and Tucker, all of Mint Hill. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was their chauffer, and the grandma that any grandchild would want. Faye would tackle any game that either of them wanted to play. One of the favorite things she enjoyed was going to the family home in Oak Island, where they spent many days filled with activities.

She is also survived by her brother, Bill Brewer and his wife, Nancy, of Fort Mill, SC, as well as her sister-in-law, Shelia Brewer of Pineville, and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 19, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens.
