Born on 2/25/03 Ethan Cannon instantly became my entire world and the light of my life. On 1/10/22 he was granted his wings to join his holy father in heaven.
Ethan's life was a story cut way too short with many chapters to still be written. Those who were a part of his story certainly understand that the quality of his existence by far exceeded the quantity of time in which we were blessed to have him. His smile and his laugh could light up a room and his tears could melt your heart. Ethan had the courage and tenacity to make each day memorable and he lived with the spirit of strength and perseverance, Ethan was never afraid to be who he was.
Ethan loved not just his family, but he embraced his Mint Hill and Butler football teammates and coaches as his extended family, and he loved them with his whole heart… his teammates were truly his brothers.
Ethan enjoyed playing football, basketball, and other sports, music, hanging out with his friends, and bringing joy to others. Bringing joy to others was one of his greatest passions in life and it was easy for him to do so with his contagious smile and huge heart. Ethan loved being with his family and especially loved our trips to the beach and going to Louisville for the fun and excitement of the Kentucky Derby.
As I think about some of our best days, I remember walking together down the track on Senior night, as this was truly an amazing day and a memory I will carry with me forever. Also, him walking across that stage on 06/04/2021 to receive his diploma. Such a proud moment in time for his great accomplishment.
Ethan was a loving soul who touched so many, and those he touched are far better for the time they had with him.
