Ethel I. Beavers

She was born on Nov. 14, 1928, in Atwell, WV, to James Clarence Atwell and Chloe (Short) Atwell.

She married Henry Crockett Beavers on Oct. 11, 1945, in Iaeger, WV. The couple lived in Bolt, WV. In 1994, they moved to Charlotte. Mr. Beavers died in 2000.

Mrs. Beavers was a homemaker. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandma.

She and her husband were especially proud that all of their children were college graduates.

Survivors include six daughters: Faye (Jerry) Childress, Charlotte; Ruth (Richard) Boyd, Princeton, WV; Tilda (Gary) Stream, Wilmington, NC; Bridgett (Gregg) Goodwin, Morrisville, NC; Kimberly Wilson, Raleigh, NC; and Samantha (Gregg) Beavers Dameron, Evans, GA; three sons: Roy (Betty) Beavers, Charlotte; Roger (Toni) Beavers, Merritt Island, FL; and Dr. Clarence (Rene) Beavers, Eden, NC; seventeen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; six siblings: Travis (Esther) Atwell, Yukon, WV; Fannie (James) Short, Rock, WV; Anna Adair and Henry (Ginger) Atwell, Ft. Mill, SC; Ray (Janet) Atwell, Charlotte; and Kay (Russell) Atwell, Fredericksburg, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, from 12 noon until the time of her service at 2:00 p.m,. at the Central United Methodist Church, 6030 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC. The Reverend Angela A. Pleasants will officiate. Interment will be in the Stanly Gardens Cemetery, 2001 East Main Street, Albemarle, NC.

Mrs. Beavers was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Tilda Short Atwell, and eight sisters and brothers.
