Evelyn was born on March 14, 1941 in Magnolia, North Carolina, to parents Ralph Waddell and Sarah Ruth Herring.
Evelyn is survived by her companion, Edison Dwight Gunter, Sr.; sons; Jeffrey Whitlow (Denise) of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Mark Whitlow (Deborah) of Columbia, South Carolina; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Whitlow (Daniel), Emily Whitlow-Stolba (Frank), Bayley Huntley (Thomas), Gary Whitlow (Sydney), Elizabeth Whitlow (Landon), Eric Whitlow (Megan) and Curtis Whitlow; and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Waddell (Larry) Thompson of Rock Hill, SC. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Jimmy Herring; sisters, Jackie Peterson and Vivian Faw.
