

He was born on May 28, 1932, in Washington Co., VA, to the late Rodolphus and Nora Ellen McMew Worley.
Mr. Worley was a Korean War veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army from Aug. 28, 1952, until his honorable discharge on Aug. 27, 1954. He received the National Defense Service Medal.
He was the owner-operator of E.C. Worley Erection Company which did structural steel erection jobs all along the eastern seaboard and especially in the Southeast and was founder of the American Subcontractors Association.
Mr. Worley lived in Hickory, NC, Florida, and for the last fifty years in Charlotte area.
Survivors include his two sons, Steve Worley, Charlotte, and Todd (Brenda) Worley, Midland, NC; one sister, Evelyn Reeves, Juneau, Alaska; five grandchildren, Christopher Newell, Melissa (Trevor) Yascavage, Jessica and Jesse Worley, and Carl (Shannon) Needham; and eight great grandchildren, Damion, Hope, Josh, Allisa, Christopher, Makayla, Landon, and Jayden.
His family will receive friends on Monday, April 25, 2011, from 2:30pm-3:30pm at the McEwen-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd., Mint Hill, NC, followed immediately by his service at 3:30pm. The Rev. Lee Davis will officiate.
Interment will be in Forest Lawn East Cemetery, Matthews, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Emma Jalain Worley, and son, Mark Jerome Worley, three brothers and one sister.
