

Faye was born on August 1, 1940, in Vass, North Carolina, to the late Sam and Bertha Comer. She attended Sandhills Community College and received her nursing license later in her adult life. As a nurse, she was committed to all of her patients and prioritized giving them excellent care.
Her favorite role in life was being a mother to her three children, Rhonda, Jill and Ray. She loved her children and was delighted to become a grandmother to her six grandchildren and great grandmother to nine great grandchildren. Faye valued time with her family and enjoyed every moment she was able to spend with them. Faye was an active member of First Baptist Church in Carthage, North Carolina. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and in her spare time, she loved to read a good book. Faye made such an impact on those she loved most and her spirit will be greatly missed.
She was predeceased by her husband, Victor Long. She is survived by her children, Rhonda Cox, Jill (Tracy) Richardson, and Ray Salmon; her grandchildren, Trey (Amanda) Cox, Justin Salmon, Candace (Carlos) Moranchel, Emily Richardson, Kara (Devin) Lofton, and Natalie Earwood; and great grandchildren, Davis, Sabrina, Violet, Cameron, Catalina, Yaretzi, Chevelle, Madeline and Isabella.
A visitation for Faye will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
