Frances Blanchard Epley, 91, of Mint Hill passed away at Lawyers Glen Living Center on January 21, 2013.
She was born in Mint Hill, NC on June 16, 1921. Frances graduated from Bain School. She had a passion for music and loved playing the piano for her family and friends. We will miss her wit and charm as she kept a smile on our faces with her sense of humor. She was a lifelong member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church and a member of the Fred Brown Sunday School class. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Arthur Blanchard, her sisters Wilma Todd and Margaret Duncan, and her brother Henry B. Forbis Jr. She is survived by her husband of 10 years John Kenneth Epley, her sister Betty Ross, brother Richard Forbis (Linda), daughter Beverly Caldwell (Bob), son James Blanchard Jr (Cathy), step-daughter Ginger Bourgeois (Bob), grandchildren Jamie Blanchard (Becky) and Robin Priles (Rob), step-grandchildren Amy Cooper and Brent Bourgeois (Stephanie), great grandchildren Kaylee, Hannah, Ellie and Lizzie and step great grandchildren Colton, Cassidy, Darrien, Bailee, Trace and Chase.
The family will receive friends at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church 11501 Bain School Rd. Mint Hill, NC 28227 on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 1:00pm with the funeral following at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill or Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region 1420 East 7th St. Charlotte, NC 28204.
