

Frank Joseph Brodowski, 97, died peacefully on February 20th, 2017, at Royal Park Rehabilitation & Health Center of Matthews, North Carolina. A native of Goshen, New York, he was a son of the late Joseph and Stella Malinowski Brodowski.
An U.S. Air Force veteran, Frank managed his own auto repair business for years in upstate New York, where he was issued an award for Automotive Service Excellence. He was active as a Troop Leader in the Boy Scouts, a volunteer for Youth Baseball, and served for two years as President of the Board of Education for Van Hornesville Central School District.
An avid gardener, Frank also enjoyed bowling, camping, and trout fishing, and found contentment in the great outdoors. A husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was a wonderful role-model, and was devoted to his family and loyal to his friends. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Brodowski, and all of his brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children, Louise Kantor of Charlotte, Shirley Hladun of Mint Hill, and David Brodowski of Hawaii; his grandchildren, Aaron Silbiger of Hawaii, Rebecca Wicks of Charlotte, Adam Silbiger of Charleston, South Carolina, Emily Silbiger of Charlotte, and Phillip Hladun of Mint Hill; and his five great-grandchildren, London and Sullivan Silbiger of Charleston, South Carolina, Charlotte and Olivia Fujinaka of Hawaii, and Bryce Hladun of Mint Hill.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
