Harry, a courageous Vietnam War veteran, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2024, at the age of 78 in Mint Hill, North Carolina. He was born on February 6, 1946, in Beaverdale, Pennsylvania. Harry exemplified valor, strength, and unwavering commitment throughout his life, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Enlisting in the United States Army at a young age, Harry answered the call of duty with remarkable bravery. Serving in the tumultuous landscape of Vietnam, he faced the harsh realities of war with resilience and unwavering determination. Harry demonstrated profound courage in the face of adversity, earning the admiration and respect of his fellow servicemen. Harry retired from the Army in 1988 as a Major.
Harry loved watching movies and listening to music—so much so that he would listen to it at full volume all the time. So, if you wanted to have a conversation, you would have to yell, making it feel like you were at a concert or movie theater.
He leaves behind his wife, Sharon Boucher, daughters May Beth "Becky" Mulford (Doug) and Mary White (John Levi), stepchildren Marcie Collins (Mike) and Timothy Roberts (Jessica), sister Elanor Smith (John), seven grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Ford and Laura Boucher, and his brother, Albert Ford Boucher.
The family would like to express a special thank you to his caregiver, Dana. She helped care for him for the past two years.
A funeral service for Harry will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2024, 1:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, North Carolina 28227.
