Harry was born in Mint Hill on August 19th, 1937 to Eva Lee Baird (d.1984) and William Chester Hood (d.1972). He was a native to Mint Hill and graduated from East Meck High School, was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, retired from Hershey Foods Company, and took great pride in serving his community. He was a loyal friend to many and took time to visit anyone in need.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, William (d. 2000) and Larry (d.2000). He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Martha, his two children, Benjamin (Kimberly), Elizabeth, and his grandchildren, Kylie (Andrew), Rory, and Benjamin.
