Born in Charleroi, Belgium, on August 24, 1933, to Wolf and Dwojra Nadata, Henry's early years were marked by the hardships of World War II. During the war, while hiding, he tragically lost his brother in Auschwitz as well as his mother.
After the war, Henry, along with his father and aunt, immigrated to New York and settled in Paterson, NJ. There, he learned English and trained as a pattern maker. In March 1967, Henry married Sheila Dunayer, and their marriage lasted nearly 60 years. In 1971, they welcomed their son, Victor Nadata.
Henry worked diligently in the garment industry in New York City, enduring long bus rides each weekday for decades to provide for his family. In 2009, Henry and Sheila moved to Indian Trail, NC, to be closer to their grandchildren. He enjoyed a peaceful life filled with love, fun, and cherished moments with family and friends.
Henry leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and generosity. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Nadata; his son, Victor Nadata; his daughter-in-law, Danielle Nadata; and his grandchildren, Amber and Ben Nadata.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 11:00 am at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227.
