Jack Allen Vea

Jack was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam with the 25th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. A combat veteran, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Jack retired from Praxair as a mechanist.

Jack was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church where he served in the prayer ministry and on numerous mission trips. His greatest desire was that people would put their trust in Jesus Christ so they could be saved and look forward to heaven.

Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie Bartholow; parents, Mariano Tacorda and Edna Vea; and brother, Robert Capps.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Nell Vea; daughters, Evelyn Perez and Melissa Sherrill and husband, Mike; step-son, Joel Ledbetter; brothers, Harley Vea and Chuck Tacorda; sisters, Susan Seegal and Judy Vea; grandchildren, Austin, Megan, Jasmine, Cody, Matthew, Mark and Monica; and two great-grandchildren, Leelyn and Chace.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Monday, April 12, 2021, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Harris Boulevard Campus Worship Center, with a funeral service to following at 11:00 am. Interment with military honors will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
