

He joined the USMC at age 18. Jack was a Korean War veteran who served his country from Aug. 12, 1952, until his honorable discharge on Aug. 11, 1955. He received the National Defense Ribbon. Following his discharge, he had lived in the Charlotte area.
He owned and operated Jack’s Jaguar Service on Albemarle Rd. in Charlotte for twenty-five years.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, Charlotte; three children, Melissa (Brian) Wilkenfeld, Harrisburg, NC; Matthew (Katy) White and Natalie (Bill) Baucom, Charlotte; five grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Regina) White, Elk Creek, VA, and Bill (Charlotte) White, Menagha, MN.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, from 10-11 am at the McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd., Mint Hill, NC, followed by his memorial service at 11 am. Mr. Jim Black will officiate.
