Jane Carrier Johnson

Born on January 9, 1940, in Bronx, NY, Jane was the beloved daughter of Catherine "Kay" and George "Buddy" Conley. Her life was marked by unwavering compassion and dedication to her family and community.

Jane’s education at Commerce High School in Yonkers New York laid a foundation for her successful career where she had significant roles at Vick Chemical Company in New York City, Lutheran Family Services in North Carolina, and was an Office Manager at Tony Johnson Attorney at Law in Mint Hill, NC. Her career was characterized by the same care and attention she devoted to every aspect of her life.

Jane's life was also deeply enriched by her faith. She was an active member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Poughkeepsie, NY, where she also served as a cheerleading coach. After moving to Charlotte, North Carolina, she continued her devotion at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Her faith was a source of strength and guidance.

Jane's hobbies and interests painted the picture of a vibrant, engaged woman. She had a love for music and ballet, fostered by visits to iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall. Jane performed on a TV show in New York City in the 1950s called “The Amateur Hour” singing the song “Now is the hour”. She loved music and was especially fond of Johnny Mathis, Alan Parsons Project, and the works “Swann Lake” and “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky. Upon moving to North Carolina, she also became an avid Carolina Panthers fan.

Jane leaves behind a loving family, including her husband, Tony; her children Howie, Michael, Tommy, Peter, and Natalie; her sister Christine Collins; and cousin Linda Norberto. Jane was preceded in death by her parents Kay and Buddy, her sisters Anne and Catherine "Tootsie," and her brothers Daniel and Arthur. Her legacy continues through 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren who brought her immense pride and happiness.

Whether known as Aunt Jane, Mimi, Grandma or Jane, she was always reaching out to help family and friends whose lives were brightened by her care and support. Jane's legacy is not only in the love she shared but also in the countless lives she touched through her selflessness and desire to help others. Those who knew her will remember her enduring spirit of giving, which made a significant impact on her community and beyond.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and joy for those who carry forward the light she shared so freely.”

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Luke Catholic Church, Fairview Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 11:00 am.

Jane will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
