

She was born on May 8, 1935, to the late Gus and Edna Igler. Formerly of New York, New York, Janet was a graduate of Bayside High School.
She had many interests and enjoyments in her life including reading and shopping. She was also a member of the University City United Methodist Church where she actively served in various ministries including the Food Bank, sending cards to church members, and singing in the church choir. More importantly, Janet loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, making chocolate candy at Christmas and Easter for them. Janet was a funny, radiant, and inspiring woman who exhibited love and kindness throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janet is survived by her loving husband, William Walter Kline, Jr.; children, Bill Kline, Robert Kline and his wife, Debbie Rose, and Carolyn Brodie and her husband, Peter Brodie; grandchildren, Jennifer Cagle and her husband, Josh Cagle, Jason Kline and his wife, McKenzie Kline, Ashley Brodie and her husband, Matthew Christian, and Aaron Brodie and his girlfriend, Trinity Edwards; and great-grandchildren, Colton Cagle and Emma Cagle.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, located at 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd., Mint Hill, North Carolina. A funeral service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held following the visitation at 11:00 am with burial immediately following the service at Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill, North Carolina.
