Janet Louise Powell Tennant, 81, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed peacefully from this world on Thursday, February 10, 2022 surrounded by her husband, of 57 years, Bruce Tennant, her children and grandchildren. Janet was born April 22, 1940 in Endicott, New York to Violet Wood Powell and George Powell.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Georgianna Powell; and brothers, Foster Powell, Kenneth Powell, Roger Powell, and Gordon Powell.
In addition to Bruce, Janet is survived by one brother, Douglas Powell of Owego New York; and sisters Carol Powell Bell, and Linda Powell Wilcox also of Owego; her sister-in-law, Nancy Powell of Tioga Center, NY; two sons, Kevin Tennant (Misti) of Harmony, NC and Kenneth Tennant (Angela) of Madison, GA; her daughter, Kelly Tennant Wally (Ronald) of Stanfield, NC; eight grandchildren, Cody Tennant (Taylor), Dalton Wally (Caroline), Jake Wally, Nick Tennant, Chloe Wally, Sadie Wally, Evan Tennant, and Logan Tennant; and two great grandchildren, Piper Tennant and Gavin Wally.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
