Jaxson DeArmon Hill flew into the loving arms of Jesus while he was held by his mother and father and surrounded by his grandparents at 3:39pm on Monday, October 14, 2013. Jaxson was born on April 26, 2013 with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and was an angel from the start. He has now earned his wings, but he always had his halo. HLHS is a severe congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is severely underdeveloped. Jaxson had been through the first two of three surgeries and was doing well. He then had severe complications which led to brain injury after the second surgery. Jaxson will forever be remembered for his contagious smile and infectious laugh. Never has the world seen a happier baby. He was practically born smiling.
He is survived by his parents Michael and Heather Hill, grandparents, Gina and Duane Nix and Stephen and Lynn Hill, his great grandparents; Ruth Long, MD and Shirley Hill, Margaret and Bob Burns and Ray and Judy Nix, his aunt, Stephanie and uncle, Joel Shackleford and his uncle, Marshall Nix. He was preceded in death by his great grandfather Bill Long and great grandparents, Noah and Helen Wooten.
Jaxson touched the lives of many physicians, nurses and medical staff that took excellent care of him and gave us five and a half precious months.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Charlotte, NC 28227. Funeral service will be in the chapel at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
