

John Corriher of Charlotte, NC born December 31, 1918, died September 1, 2002. He was a wonderful husband for 54 years to Helen Outen Corriher. John was a loving dad to Sandra, Susan, Vicky, and Steve and his wife, Becky. He was the best PeePaw to Christy, Kathryn, Stephanie, and John Owen. He was older brother to Charles Corriher, Madeline Watt and Jo Bridges. John fought in WWII and was affectionately called Sarge by members of his 246 Signal Corp. He was a member of Hickory Grove Methodist Church and taught Fellowship class for 10 years. He worked for the Post Office for 43 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 400. John was an excellent gardener, he enjoyed reading books and learning. John also loved to fish and enjoyed sharing his many stories. He loved his family and friends very much as they loved him.
There will be a funeral service at 2:00pm Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel with the Rev. Jack Knoespel and Rev. Ken Looney officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 7:00 to 8:30pm at the funeral home.
