John T Lim was born on September 27, 1953 in Manila Philippines. At age 24, he immigrated to the United States, where he met his wife of nearly forty years, Vivian Lim. They had two children, Theodore and Jonathan, daughter-in-law Qing, and grandson Rex.
John had two successful careers, as a database administrator, and later, as a business owner of three restaurants. He was part of the churches in Franklin, Manalapan, and Hamilton in New Jersey, and the church in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he often opened his home with wife Vivian to church brothers and sisters and college students.
His many hobbies included: hiking, golf, fountain pens, photography, cooking, and recently, bonsai. In his retirement he made the most of each day, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
