John "Whitey" Dennis Stevens

Whitey was born February 10, 1970. Whitey loved people and love to make others laugh and wanted them to feel good about themselves. He was a great listener and encourager with no judgement. He loved Jesus, Christian music and often shared his faith.

Whitey loved animals, he loved kids and had a tender heart for the elderly. He loved sports, many of which he played in his youth. He enjoyed watching football and hockey games. He loved watching movies old and new, spending time at the beach, and decorating for Christmas with his family. He was an exceptionally good cook and loved to grill out with friends and family and try new recipes.

Whitey had such great love and acceptance for this family. Left to mourn is his parents, Joel "Whitey Sr." and Sandy Stevens of Mint HIll, NC, sister, Misty Stevens Griffin (Chad); nephew, Neil Griffin; and niece, Alaina Griffin.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 1, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Greater Life Church, 3821 Matthews Mint Hill Road, Matthews, North Carolina 28105, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM.
