John Edward Tarnowicz

John was born on May 15, 1950, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to the late John Tarnowicz and Ann Yanavich. After graduation, John joined the US Navy and proudly served our country. In his post naval career, John spent three decades in the radiology engineering field.

John was happily married to the love of his life, Doris, and together, they had Amanda and Stephanie. John loved being a father and enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with his family, including his pets. He was overjoyed to become Pop Pop to his grandchildren, Claire and Henry.

John was a fan of both the Carolina Tarheels and the Carolina Panthers. No matter how good or bad his team was doing, he always cheered them on. He also enjoyed his model trains and cars.

John was predeceased by his parents, John Francis Tarnowicz and Ann Yanavich. He is survived by his devoted wife, Doris Tarnowicz (née Zatko); daughters, Amanda Jainchill (Scott), and Stephanie Korecki (Matt); grandchildren, Claire and Henry Korecki; and brother, Robert Tarnowicz.

John will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A visitation for John will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 1 PM to 3 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
