Jorene "Jo" Lazarides Hill

On Monday, April 2, 2012, Mrs. Lazarides, 78, of Charlotte, was called home to Jesus at 7:05am. Mrs. Hill fought a very brief battle with cancer. The staff and doctors at Presbyterian Matthews comforted and gave the most professional care, and were a wonderful help during her time of need. Mrs. Hill spent her professional career as a hairdresser. She and her sister were in a quartet. Mrs. Hill never met a stranger and accepted everyone for the way they were. Mrs. Hill loved to shop and made it her favorite hobby.

She is survived by her husband Joel "Van" Hill of 13 years; three children, Thomas George Lazarides, Peter Lynn Lazarides and LeeAnn (John) Reid; grandchildren, Bradley and Pete Davis; sisters, Jeanne Bell, Jerri Kenley and Patti Tribuzio; brothers, Leonard and Lyles West. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Ruth West; sister, Nina Aycoth and her first husband, Peter George Lazarides.

Family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00pm Thursday, April 5, 2012 at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Charlotte, NC 28227. Funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in the Chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen City Cemetery.
