Lana Jean Woods, age 73, of Charlotte, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2025. Born on November 22, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky, Lana grew up with a deep-rooted sense of compassion, selflessness, and grace that touched everyone around her.
A proud graduate of Male High School in Louisville, Lana carried her warmth and elegance into every chapter of her life. A devoted member of Calvary Church in Charlotte, she found great joy in community fellowship—especially during Christmas teas, where she lovingly decorated her own table, creating beauty and warmth for others.
Lana’s joys in life were simple but profound: time spent with family, strolls along the beach, a quiet afternoon shopping, and the comforting rhythm of cooking and baking for the people she loved. She had a special gift for playing the piano by ear, filling her home with melodies that echoed her generous heart.
Her legacy is best captured in the fierce love she held for her family—a love that never wavered, always uplifted, and left a lasting imprint on those who knew her. Beautiful inside and out, Lana will be remembered for her kind spirit, her unwavering devotion, and the gentle strength she carried throughout her life.
She will be missed deeply and remembered always by her family, her friends, and the community she so lovingly embraced.
Lana is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Shuler of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Courtney, Cheyenne, and Cassie Shuler of Charlotte, North Carolina; and great grandchildren, Hunter Lohnas and Savannah Shuler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee and Doris Ann Young of Louisville, Kentucky; and her husband, Ronald Lee Woods of Louisville, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Calvary Church, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Rd, Charlotte, NC 28226. A celebration of life will immediately follow. Lana will be laid to rest at Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
