The family will receive friends at Arlington Baptist Church of Mint Hill on April 24, 2025, from 11am-12pm. The celebration of life will be immediately following by Pastor Rick Whittier and Pastor Steve Gandy. Pete will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
Pete was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 13, 1929 to the late Frank and Daisy Hucks. He is lovingly survived by his wife Molly McLeod Hucks of 74 years. Those also left to cherish his memory are his children Bill(Kathy) Hucks, Mark(Tammie) Hucks, Clay(Jennifer) Hucks, Guy(Stephanie) Hucks, 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Not only was Pete an incredible husband but a God fearing father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was known for his extravagant storytelling, charming personality, infectious smile and walking daily in the light and love of Jesus Christ.
A proud veteran, he served bravely as an acting Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War, demonstrating courage, sacrifice and a steadfast sense of duty. That same strength of spirit carried into every chapter of life.
For over 40 years, Pete dedicated his career to Kale Office Outfitters where he was known for his loyalty and work ethic. His presence there was not just professional but personal-forming lasting friendships and earning the respect of all who worked alongside him.
Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in knowing he is now resting in eternal peace, embraced by the boundless love of our savior.
“Well done my good and faithful servant…. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
