Lawrence "Larry" Charles Deckbar II

Born on December 30, 1955, Larry was a proud graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan West High School in New Jersey and later attended UNC Charlotte. He was known for being generous, fun-loving, kind, and deeply family-oriented, qualities that defined his life and touched everyone who knew him.

Larry was a devoted member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church, where he and his family practiced their faith for over 35 years. He was an avid golfer, a true beach dweller, and found his greatest joy in spending time with his family.

He will be remembered most for his laughter and smile, which brought light and warmth to every gathering. His legacy is one of love, joy, and devotion, and his memory will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Ward Deckbar; sons, Lawrence C. Deckbar (Jennifer), Patrick M. Deckbar (Danielle), and Peter F. Deckbar ( Kelsey); grandchildren, Davis C. Deckbar and Miller J. Deckbar; Brother, Frederick "Rick" A. Deckbar; and sister, Linda Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick "Fred" A. Deckbar and Joel Newman Deckbar.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church, located at 9800 Fairview Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227, on Friday, December 19, 2025, starting at 11:00 am.and followed by a reception/celebration of life at the Deckbar's home at 8013 Wicklow Hall Dr., Weddington NC 28104.
