Lawrence Megna

Mr. Megna, 63, of Mint Hill, died Monday, October 25, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital, Matthews.

His family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road. His funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn East Cemetery, Matthews.

Born September 9, 1947 in Staten Island, NY, Mr. Megna was a son of the late Carmen Megna and Mildred Meraglia Megna. He received his Bachelors of Science from St. John’s University in Long Island, NY and his Masters of Business Administration from St. John’s University in Staten Island, NY. He was a New York City banker. Mr. Megna served in the U.S. Army National Guard, where he was honorably discharged in 1972. He was an excellent saxophone player and played in several bands. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Survivors include his wife, Raven Megna; son, Michael Megna of Mint Hill; daughter, Pamela Steinauer and husband, William Steinauer, and twin granddaughters, Holly and Taylor Steinauer, all of Salisbury; sister, Angela Perez and husband, Dr. Carlos Perez, and brother, Dr. Daniel Megna and wife, Joanne Megna, all of Staten Island, NY; brother, Dr. Thomas Megna and wife, Denise Megna, of Holmdel, NJ; and a number of nieces and nephews.
