Lovyonne "Von" Weathers

Von graduated from Pacolet High School where she met her husband of 49 years, Donald Weathers. She and Don shared a love for being outdoors and also a love for animals. They had several beloved dogs during their life together. Von enjoyed gardening, reading, and relaxing outside on the patio. She loved spending time with family, whether it was a cookout, birthday celebration, or holiday.

Von worked for Food Lion for over 30 years. Several years after retirement she moved into Willow Grove Independent Living in Matthews, NC. She attended church at Hickory Grove United Methodist in Charlotte. She much enjoyed the dinners and social gatherings with both Sunday School classmates and her neighbors at Willow Grove.

Von was preceded in death by her husband, Don Weathers; five brothers, Lewis Jones, Henry Jones, Paul “Babe” Jones, Stephen Jones, and Liston “Lick” Jones; two sisters, Grace Burleson and Ophelia Bynum. She is survived by one sister, Myrtis Marcello; three daughters, Dena Kuykendall (Charles), Lori Moore (Mike), and Lynn Bealieu (Brad); four grandchildren, Matthew Kuykendall, Mikayla Kuykendall, Jeremy Moore and Gabby Beaulieu; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, a private service will be held in Pacolet, SC. The family would like to thank The Post at Mint Hill and Hospice of Charlotte for caring for Von over the past several months.

Donations or memorials may be made in Von’s honor to The Humane Society of Charlotte or Hospice of Charlotte.
