Madeline M. Allen

Mrs. Madeline Marshall Allen, 85, formerly of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 at McEwen – Mint Hill Chapel with Reverend Rodney McAllister officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Allen was born July 21, 1925 in Rowan County, NC, a daughter of the late John William Marshall and Elizabeth Irene Bell Marshall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilburn Allen, Jr. Mrs. Allen is survived by her children, Steve Edwards (Martha) of Concord, NC, Gloria Rabon (David) of Monroe, NC, Janet Dial (Mike) of China Grove, NC, and Cindy Wells (Tommy) of Cherryville, NC; sisters, Betty Brown of Supply, NC and Donna King of Charlotte; brother, Jack Marshall of Charlotte; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, Tucker Hospice House, 5005 Hospice Ln., Kannapolis, NC 28081. Arrangements under the direction of McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel, Mint Hill, NC.

She was a very special lady and I'm aware the family is well aware of this. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. But memories will keep her with us always, and they are very special ones. I will cherish them and my spooner she thought we all should have at least one! Know she's in a good place now.

I enjoyed taking bus trips with Madeline and always knew we would have lots of laughs together, she was a sweet person.Thinking of her family and praying for you during this time.
