Marcey Carole Cuthbertson

A memorial gathering for Marcey will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.

Marcey Carole Cuthbertson, daughter of Emily Watson and the late Ben Ray Watson Sr., was born on April 18th, 1977. She departed this life on Saturday, March 9th, 2024, in Charlotte, NC.

She was hardworking, devoted, selfless, generous, and compassionate to all those she knew; however, for the three children who called her ‘mom’, she was exceptional, and her love was unconditional and unwavering. She had an adventurous spirit and love for nature; whether rock climbing, parasailing, or butterflies and insects. Her passion for science led her to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Wingate University in 2015.

She spent her latest years assisting at Yellowstone National Park, where she explored the natural wonders. Her most recent endeavor was starting her own business, MCK Family Closet LLC, which was set to launch on April 4th in Matthews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ben Ray Watson Sr.

She is survived by her mother, Emily Watson of Charlotte, NC; husband, Reggie Cuthbertson of Matthews, NC; children, Kyli Cuthbertson, Chelsey Cuthbertson, and Kenadee Cuthbertson, all of Matthews, NC; brother, Ben Ray Watson Jr. (Cindy Watson) of Troutman, NC, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, in-laws, friends, and loved ones.

Marcey's spirit will forever be remembered and celebrated by those whose lives she touched.
