Martha Marie Nash

Marie Edwards Nash passed away on December 9, 2022. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 7, 1966 to Sarah Cook Edwards and the late James R. Edwards. Marie graduated from Garinger High School in 1984. She attended Appalachian State University. She worked with the Parks and Recreation Department at Mecklenburg County. She retired from the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services.

She loved shopping with her sister, Michelle. She loved animals especially her cat, Devon. Her "happy place" was Pigeon Forge spending away time with Brianna and Michelle. Their last trip in October was enjoyed by all. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley impersonators. She was a devoted mother. She will be greatly missed by all but especially by her sister.

Marie is survived by her beloved daughter- Brianna, her Mom-Sarah, her sister-Michelle, her aunt and uncle-Katherine and Jerry Pace, and her great aunt-Betty Carrouth. She is also survived by numerous cousins.

The Celebration of Life for Marie will be conducted at United Wesleyan Church - 2601 Rocky River Road, Charlotte, NC 28213 on Saturday, January 14, 2023. Friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:00. The service will commence at 2:00. Donations in her name can be sent to your favorite charity.
