Mary Louise Bingham was born on November 8, 1936, in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Mr. Lively Lewis and Ms. Mary Louise Farris. She was one of three children born from this union and was lovingly brought up with one sister and one brother. Mary was raised in a tight-knit family and spent her formidable years being educated in the Alabama school system.
As time moved on, Mary migrated to Wisconsin as a young adult and eventually settled in Rochester, New York with her young family. Rochester, New York is where she began her professional career working with Bausch & Lomb and Schlage Locks for the entirety of her secular life while nurturing and raising her family. Mary worked hard and tirelessly to make sure her family had what they needed.
Mary enjoyed her family and many things in life, but her love was reading. She found special enjoyment in reading the Bible. Reading the Bible and playing the kingdom melodies calmed and soothed her. As she read the Bible, Mary recognized her thirst for spiritual knowledge and soon came to be acquainted with local Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Rochester area. Mary Bingham was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses sometime in the 1960s. Mary continued to progress and firmly plant her feet as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses; she served as a regular pioneer throughout her life and continued to help others learn about Jehovah until her death. She was a loving mother and sister, never missing a convention and making sure all her children were in attendance, and that they had a proper vacation afterward. Never missing a beat, she always made sure her children had what they needed spiritually and secularly no matter the challenge.
Our dear mother, faithful sister, and friend is now resting, only merely taking a short nap. How we long to see her very soon when we see the fulfillment of Jehovah’s promise; until then we know she is resting safely in Jehovah’s memory.
