Mary Macomson Braswell

Her funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 7, at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Lee Koontz officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. Following the interment, her family will receive friends at Red Rocks Café, 4223-8 Providence Road, Charlotte.

Born September 7, 1934 in Anderson, SC, Mrs. Braswell was the youngest of five sons and two daughters born to the late Edgar Earl Macomson and Estelle O’Dell Macomson. She met the love of her life, Tim Braswell while working with Dixie News Company. They married June 17, 1955, and Mrs. Braswell continued to work and support her husband at Dixie News.

An avid golfer, Mrs. Braswell was a charter member of Pine Lake Country Club in Mint Hill, and was a member of Jupiter Hills Country Club in Jupiter, FL and Quail Hollow Country Club in Charlotte. Her other passions include music and dancing.

Mrs. Braswell was a member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill, and an associate member of First Presbyterian Church of Tequesta, FL.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Mrs. Braswell was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Timothy Arnold Braswell on November 24, 2004.

She is survived by two daughters, Kim Braswell McPhail and husband, David, of Charlotte, and Tanis Braswell Bowles and husband, William, of Libertyville, IL; and her four grandchildren, Randall Bowles, Timothy Hefner and wife, Dana, Andrew Bowles and Alexandra Bowles.
