Mary Ellen Hicks

We are both so very blessed by God to have called her Mom.

Mom was born on June 1st, 1938, and died on October 5th, 2026.

She spent her life following Jesus with a sunny and warm disposition that affected those around her. Mom has traveled the world, covering 5 of the 7 continents, including missions work in Liberia. One of Mom’s great joys was researching family history of the past. But her greatest joy was celebrating the growing family tree of the four grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Mom is reuniting with her Soulmate, Robert Hicks, whose vows held true for almost 64 years till death parted them.

Mary Ellen now rests in the arms of Jesus and our Dad. Enjoy Mom.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10:30 am until 11:00 am at West Concord Baptist Church, located at 225 Warren C Coleman Blvd. N., Concord, North Carolina, 28027. A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held following the visitation at 11:00 am with Pastor Mike Farley officiating.
