Mary was my boss at Fleet Bank.
She was a dynamic strong woman leader in a mans world in Banking.
She was a great teacher to me.
She was promoted to the top level with the men and she always watched over her original team me included

It is with deep sadness that I received the news of Mary's death.  We met in grammar school and then we proceeded to the same high school and college.  She was Terry Mead to me then and a lovely girl and then young woman with sparkling blue eyes and a broad and warm smile.  Having scrolled through the gallery of photos I can see that she kept them throughout her life.  It is no surprise to me because I never saw her any other way.  She will always remain as such in my heart and my prayers are with Leon and her sisters and brother that they will find some peace knowing that she touched many through her life.  It is clear she made a difference to the world around her.

We met and roomed together at Rosemont College. She was Terry; I was "T". After graduation, we would meet in NYC with other classmates in the area. As young wives and mothers, we compared notes on family issues. My husband will always remember her as a special friend, too. We will miss you. We love you.

There are no words to express how sorry I am for Mary's loss. She was truly an amazing and wonderful woman. It was an honor and privilege just to know her and I was blessed to be one of the countless people she inspired, guided and helped. The impact she made and continues to make through her work at St. Matthew alone is remarkable. I will be forever grateful for her precious life and friendship. With my deepest heartfelt sympathies to all of her loved ones.

I will greatly miss Mary, who I meet during Evening Edition Book Club sponsored by the Mint Hill Library.  Our book club met once at Mary's lovely house, and Mary was a gracious hostess. Mary provided many interesting views on the books that we read and I will miss her lively discussions.

I met Mary at our Friday morning book club. She had the most beautiful smile and sweet nature. She will be missed by many. Her family can find comfort in the many ways Mary brought joy to everyone.

Mary was the friend everyone loves. Mary was always positive, intelligent and articulate. Until we meet again someday, may God grant you eternal peace.

Mary was a spot of bright sunshine when I first moved to Charlotte in 2008.  She always had a smile and made me feel welcome.  Her kindness will never be forgotten.

Mary was a blessing for us at the MovingOn group and book club from the St Matthew's community. She is in our hearts and will remember her always.

I knew Mary through our book club (Evening Edition at MH Library).  We always enjoyed having her as a member because she was so insightful in her observations/comments.  Whenever I needed a little push to see a book or a character in a different light, I would look to Mary.  Also she was one of the sweetest people among our members.  We missed her when she no longer attended, but I often wonder what she might have added to a discussion.  I know her family will miss her sweetness as much as anything, and send my heartfelt condolences.

When I met Mary, she was Terry Mead, and she will always be Terry to me.  We were 12 years old, in 8th grade, and over time we realized we had a lot in common.  We were both the eldest of a large brood of Irish Catholic children.  We shared many of the same values.  We lived three blocks from one another.  
We ended up in the same high school, Our Lady of Mercy Academy (for young ladies) in Syosset, and we spent a lot of our teen years together, talking about our families, our problems, boys, culture, morality and makeup, the same basic conversations teenage girls would have today.  
We went to the library together.  We went shopping.  We took long rides on our bikes to places all over town.  We spent a lot of our summers at the local swimming pool, staying cool, hanging with our friends, flirting with the boys.  
Starting at about age 14, we were allowed to go into New York City together, and we explored museums and the planetarium.  We bought theater tickets and saw My Fair Lady  with the fifth cast but still magical.  I remember it was Terry who discovered Mamma Leone's, an affordable landmark restaurant.  We learned the subways.  We got lost.  On the night of our senior prom, at the Plaza, my dear, we missed the last train home and spent a glamorous three hours sitting with our dates in the waiting room on the drab LIRR concourse in the original Penn Station.  We could hardly keep our eyes open.  
We attended different colleges and drifted.  Communication was more difficult in those days.  We relied completely on snail mail and expensive long distance phone calls.  A lot of snail mail letters never it made it the post office.  
We were lucky.  Terry found me again when we were both semi-retired, and we were able to renew our friendship and catch up on everything that has happened to us in the intervening years.  We even had a chance to meet once again, when she and Leon traveled to San Francisco, and I flew up from LA to see them.  Since then, we have been in touch, almost monthly, by telephone.   She revived a million wonderful memories, and I will miss those calls.  
I remember now the very young Terry, lithe in a madras dress and penny loafers.  That vision makes me smile.

Marv and I have found it very difficult to express our deep sadness for you.  Mary was a beautiful person both inside and out, with a kind sweet nature and she will stay in the hearts and minds of the many friends she has made here in Charlotte. Our thoughts and prayers for you will continue day after day.
