Mary "Sue" Whitlow

She has been at Brookdale Memory Care at SouthPark for the last few months. We were so happy when on Christmas Eve she was doing so well that we were able to bring her home to our house for Christmas Day. These pictures are priceless, a testimony to her love for her family and how much our boys love her.

She was sweet and spicy, very sassy and had a hilarious sense of humor, was always teasing all of us. Always up for adventure, a trip, a walk, hiking or whatever…. Advice… she had the best sense of saving money and and advice on how to save even when you didn’t have a lot. Right before Kohl and Meg got married she wanted to come wash my windows to “help me out” at 91 years old….Everyone I know always says I want to be like MawMaw Sue when I grow up! She loved the lord. She always told us her Lord’s promises were true and she knew where her home truly was. We have every reason to believe she is with her savior now.

She leaves behind her children; Gloria Caldwell and spouse, Tommy, Robin Whitlow and spouse Rob, and Tommy Whitlow and spouse, Mica; grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew, Britt, Kohl, Collin, and Banks and great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Rowen, and Avery Joy.

Heaven got a whole lot more fun when this spunky, young lady showed up this morning! I know she is having a grand time with all those who went before her. She was the life of the party, was so funny, and laughed often, even though her life was not always easy. What a great, contagious laugh it was too. I can hear it in my head…I pray I never, ever lose that memory.❤️

Grandma, I was so blessed to have you with me for almost 50 years and Cassidy for 18. We love you and will miss you, until we meet again. Rest easy, you earned it, my lady. ❤️❤️❤️

Family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday, February 2, 2024 at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd Mint Hill, NC 28227. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the chapel. Sue will then be laid to rest at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC.
