Nathan Scott Hartis

Scotty was born on June 17, 1959, in Lincoln County, NC, to Roy Scott and Shirlene (Johnson) Hartis.

He was baptized at the Thrift Baptist Church in Charlotte and was a member during his younger years.

He had been a sheet metal fabricator all of his life. He had worked for his father at the family business, Hartis Sheet Metal, in Charlotte for many years.

He married Patti Lowery on May 22, 1982, in Charlotte.

Survivors include his wife, Patti; his daughter Heather Hartis Causey and husband Robert, Stanfield, NC; his parents, Roy and Shirlene Hartis, Charlotte; his brother, David Hartis and wife Anne, Rock Hill, SC; and six nieces and nephews.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, November 4, from 6:00 p.m. until the time of Scotty’s memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at the McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC. The Reverend Gene Lathan of the Thrift Baptist Church in Charlotte will officiate.

Scotty was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
