She was born on July 7, 1921 in Mecklenburg County to the late, William M. Russell, Sr. and Sara Paxton Russell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey S. Allen, two brothers, William Russell Jr., Thomas Warren Russell and two sisters, Billie Russell Thompson and Jean Russell Davis.
Nell graduated from Matthews High School and then went to Business School. She worked for many years at Delmar Printing Company and was a lifetime member of Matthews Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son, James L. Anderson, Jr., her daughter, Lynda Anderson Price, son in law, Larry Price, two grandsons, Richard Anderson and his wife, Lori and grandson, Roddy Anderson. One great granddaughter, Emily Anderson; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nell will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 24th, 2023 at 10:00 am at Sharon Memorial Park, 5400 Monroe Road Charlotte, NC 28215. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am at Matthews Presbyterian Church, 207 West John St., Matthews, NC 28105 with Reverend Luke Maybry officiating.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Matthews Presbyterian Church, 207 West John St., Matthews, NC 28105 in honor of Nell.
