Mrs. Spurlin was born November 22, 1923 in Robeson County, NC, a daughter of the late Aldon Benjamin Edwards and Flora Ann Watson Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Lee Spulin; and two children, Edward “Dink” Spurlin and Billie Ann Peavy. Mrs. Spurlin will be remembered as a loving Christian mother and grandmother who cared dearly for her family.
Survivors include her children, Sylvia Hildreth of Mint Hill, Karen Whitesides of Charlotte, and Jack McGarity of Norwood, NC; sisters, Betty Howell of Charlotte and Clara Cox of Indian Trail; brothers, Jack Edwards of Charlotte and A. B. Edwards of Myrtle Beach, SC; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
At the request of the family services will be private.
