Patricia Collins Scholtz

Patricia (Pat) Collins Scholtz was born October 27th, 1932, to Edison and Nellie Sue Collins of Wingate, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard J. Scholtz, late Son in Law Joseph C. Cochrane, and sister Judy Collins Hutchins.

Pat was a graduate of Mercy Nursing School, Charlotte, NC in 1954. After 35 years of dedication to Mercy Hospital, she retired as Operating Room and Open-Heart Surgery Supervisor at age 65. Pat loved the beach as she had a second home at Lakewood Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC where she spent many days walking on the beach, enjoying her friends and family, and collecting seashells in her always flashy matching wardrobe. Pat and Richard enjoyed many happy years together at the beach and traveling abroad. Everyone who knew Ms. Pat loved her and appreciated her genuine kindness, positive attitude, and sassiness. She loved life and lived it to its fullest! One of her favorite sayings: "There's something good about everything...You just have to look for it". Encouraging words to live by! Pat has been a blessing and a great inspiration to us all and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her Brother William Collins and wife Judy Collins, her Daughter Kathy Hayes, Son in Law Dan Hayes, Daughter Linda Cochrane Owens, Son in Law Randy Owens, Daughter Elia Locklear and husband Donald Locklear. Grandchildren: Juliet Fortner, Andrew Fortner, Shelby Cochrane Silvestri and Husband Corey Silvestri, Owen Cochrane, and Olivia Owens, Great grandchild: Lilly Saunders.

Pat's Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Arlington Baptist Church, 9801 Arlington Church Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227. Visitation is from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the funeral service is from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. An interment will occur immediately following the funeral service at 1:00 PM at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
